The Mekong Delta, or the ‘Nine Dragon River Delta’, is a vast region in Southeast Vietnam. This is where the Mekong River approaches and enters in to the sea through its network of tributaries. Encompassing a large portion of Southeastern Vietnam of 39,000 km2, the Mekong Delta region is richly abundant with water, fruit orchards and most importantly, rice fields. It produces about half of the total of Vietnam’s agricultural output and is the place where you can best experience the timeless sceneries of farmers planting and harvesting rice.
Travel to Siem Reap, the former capital of the once-mighty Angkorian Empire and home to the magnificent temples built by the ancient Khmer kings. Over three days, you will explore these architectural wonders and unlock the mystery behind their construction and meaning.
Take a walking tour of the capital’s modern architecture which reflects the culturally and politically vibrant era of the mid-1900s. Visit the city’s palace and museum before enjoying an entertaining and enriching traditional performance of shadow puppetry and dance.

Colour is the first of Luang Prabang’s virtues to greet travellers. Pearly frangipanis with their heady perfume, banks of overgrown trees peppered with scarlet flowers, the burnt sienna robes of hundreds of monks and their novices, and resplendent gold and claret wats. The scent of fresh coffee, river activity, produce markets and spicy food soon follows. And then the broader aesthetics begin to unfold. Encircled by mountains, and set 700m above sea level at the confluence of the Nam Khan (Khan River) and the Mekong River, Luang Prabang is now Laos’ foremost tourist showpiece. The brew of gleaming temple roofs, crumbling French provincial architecture and multiethnic inhabitants captivates even the most jaded travellers, and the quiet benevolence of the city’s residents lulls them into a somnambulant bliss

It exudes a sort of provincial charm and tranquillity with French colonial mansions and tree-lined boulevards amidst monumental Angkorian architecture.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore the tree-lined boulevards, French Indochinese architecture and tranquil lakes of this unique city.. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

DAY 2: Arrive to show you around Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, your guide will arrive to show you around Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll visit the History Museum where there is a special exhibition of the 5th century ‘Oc Eo’ civilisation. The Museum of War Remnants provides a very partial, but riveting, perspective of the ‘American War’: not for the squeamish! The huge Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every conceivable commodity. You’ll also call in at the Jade Emperor Temple. It’s one of the best Taoist temples in Vietnam, with superb effigies, remarkable carved panels of the descent to Hell and somewhat incongruous terrapin and tortoise sanctuaries. You’ll finish your day with a visit to a lacquer workshop to see the complex processes and meticulous workmanship involved in this traditional Vietnamese craft product. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

DAY 3: Stroll along bustling to visit Tay Ninh Temple

After breakfast, a stroll along bustling to visit Tay Ninh Temple and then an insight into gripping history at the amazing Cu Chi tunnels.

DAY 4: Visit the bustling Cai Be floating market

This morning, enjoy a 2.5 hour drive past rural villages and rice paddies to Cai Be in the Mekong Delta. Embark on a cruise to visit the bustling Cai Be floating market, observe the production of rice paper and coconut candies at cottage industries and sample local Mekong specialties for lunch. When the cruise ends, return by road to the city. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

DAY 5: Visit the National Museum and the Silver Pagoda

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in good time for the morning flight to Phnom Penh. When you arrive at Pochentong airport in Phnom Penh, you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. After lunch, you’ll visit the National Museum and the Silver Pagoda, followed by a sunset cruise on the Chatomouk River. Overnight in Phnom Penh

DAY 6: Explore Angkor Wat

Your car will take you to the airport to board your flight to Siem Reap, where you’ll be met and driven to your hotel. The day’s activities, and those of the next, will be devoted to the Angkor Temple complex, of which Angkor Wat is a key element. You’ll begin with a visit to Angkor Thom, starting with the Bayon, a bizarre structure of several architectural changes reflecting a switch from Hinduism (the foundations) to Buddhism (the superstructure). Your next visit will be to the Elephant and Leper Emperor Terraces, followed by the Baphoun Temple, which is now nearing the end of an eight-year multi-million dollar restoration programme. In the afternoon, you’ll explore Angkor Wat itself, the largest, and for most people, the most impressive temple in the complex. As dusk nears, a walk to the summit of Phnom Bakheng Hill will afford a panorama of the whole complex lit by the rays of the setting sun, weather permitting of course. Overnight in Phnom Penh

DAY 7: Visit the Neak Pean, Ta Prohm and East Mebon

Your day will be taken up with visits to some of the outer sites including Preah Khan, a huge and highly explorable monastic complex, Neak Pean, a Himalayan-style lake and sanctuary, and East Mebon, a temple-mountain. After lunch, you’ll also see Ta Prohm, strangled by massive tree roots and typical of the condition of the whole complex when it was discovered in 1860 by French naturalist Henri Mouhot. Your guide will then show you the Prasat Kravan (also known as the Cardomom Sanctuary) and Srah Srang lake and landing terrace. The Srah Srang is less touristed and could be sunrise alternative to Angkor Wat. Overnight in Siem Reap

DAY 8: Take you to the airport for your departure flight

Your time is your own until your car arrives to take you to the airport for your departure flight.
