The Mekong Delta, or the ‘Nine Dragon River Delta’, is a vast region in Southeast Vietnam. This is where the Mekong River approaches and enters in to the sea through its network of tributaries. Encompassing a large portion of Southeastern Vietnam of 39,000 km2, the Mekong Delta region is richly abundant with water, fruit orchards and most importantly, rice fields. It produces about half of the total of Vietnam’s agricultural output and is the place where you can best experience the timeless sceneries of farmers planting and harvesting rice.
Discover Cambodia with travel from Phnom Penh to Siem reap. DAY 1: Overnight in Ho Chi Minh
On arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
DAY 2: Take the boat trip along narrow waterways and visit some orchards
08.00am: Our Tour Guide & Driver pick you up at the hotel in Saigon, then take an excursion to Mytho, one of quiet cities in Mekong Delta area. Arrival to Mytho, a full day trip to water world of the Mekong Delta; enjoy the journey through the fertile paddy fields, water buffalos. Take the boat trip along narrow waterways and visit some orchards, local houses where making rice-paper, enjoy tropical fruits with southern traditional “Tai Tu music” show. Enjoy lunch with special Elephant’s Ear Fish will be served during lunch on local restaurant on island. After finished boat trip, take on private vehicle to Cantho, stop for visiting the ancient pagoda Vinh Trang. Afternoon, arrive to Cantho, check-in the hotel on arrival. Free at lesure until enjoy dinner at charming restaurant located on Hau river branch. Free after dinner and O/N in Cantho.
DAY 3: Visit the famous floating market Cai Rang
Breakfast at hotel. Then transfer to the pier for taking the boat ride on Mekong River which is the longest and most prosperous in Asia, visit the famous floating market Cai Rang, where you can see the daily life and local people selling their products on boats. Then cruising to small cannels to visit one of the local family and their orchard, taste tropical fruits, green tea. After then, take on private vehicle return to Saigon. 13.00: A delicious lunch will be served at an ancient house or at charming restaurant MEKONG REST STOP. 15:00 After then, return to Saigon. 17.00: Drop at your place in Saigon.
DAY 4: Visit Toul Sleng Museum
A good opportunity to do some last minute shopping before your transfer to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your ongoing flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel for check-in or dropping off your luggage (Early check-in is NOT included & subject to hotel’s availability). set out on a city tour to visit the National Museum where houses Khmer art, especially sculptures from different periods of Cambodian history; Royal Place built in 1866 by King Norodom; Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5,000 silver tiles and located within the Royal Palace compound, and visit Toul Sleng Museum, a reminder of the Khmer Rouge regime Accommodation: Hotel in Phnom Penh
DAY 5: Embark on a short cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia’s biggest natural water body
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, meet and transfer to hotel for check-in or dropping off your luggage (Early check-in is NOT included & subject to hotel’s availability). City tour of Siem Reap and driving a long the riverside, visit to local shrine of Preah Ang Chheck/Chhorm and have a lunch at local restaurant in Siem Reap town. Then we embark on a short cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia’s biggest natural water body. The experience is wonderful as we pass by floating village, friendly children in small boats and fishermen at work. And view the Sunset on the foot of Phnom Krom Mountain. DAY 6: Visit the picturesque Ta Prohm
Early morning, visit the picturesque Ta Prohm that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and remains overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene. The magnificent roots of a tree, pushing between the huge stone blocks of the temple in a sort of embrace, evoke feelings that you may remember forever. And continue to visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat – one of the world’s most impressive ruins. The temple still owns fine Apsara carvings in Angkorian era art. At 09am come back to hotel for breakfast and rest in the noon to avoid of the heats of the day until 15:00 continue exploring the mysterious Royal city Angkor Thom. Its 50-tower temple is an awesome sight. At first glance it seems a shapeless mass of stone, but further scrutiny reveals a face, and then another and another until suddenly you are engulfed by the silent, heavy, enigmatic and silent gaze through half-closed eyes, staring out from a primitive and remote time. Further, visit to the surroundings of the complex including the Baphou, Elephant Terraces, Lepper King Terrace and Royal Place area. Accommodation: Hotel in Siem Reap
DAY 7: Visit to local village of Peam
Breakfast at hotel, we will visit to local village of Peam which is located 12km from Siem Reap town north of West Baray (By Tuk Tuk). You will have a lot of opportunities for pictures of Khmer Traditional houses, Buffalos, cows, and interaction with local family. Picnic lunch at West Baray and return to Siem Reap for check out, visit to local market and transfer to airport for departure.
